Bill plays the organ, piano, accordion, and is an outstanding vocalist. He started playing harmonica at age 6, accordion at age 7 and won several talent shows.

He was honored to have appeared on the TED MACK AMATEUR HOUR.  Through his lifetime he has performed in numerous venues such as Michigan, Canada, Alabama, Branson Missouri, Tennessee, Newfoundland, and Florida.

Bill is currently semi-retired while performing in area Senior Living Communities and other locations. Bill is 81 years old and still pursuing his first love of playing music and making people happy.

John McCarthy
Vice President for Regional History
Marie Selby Botanical Gardens (Selby.org)

Mr. McCarthy is passionate about Florida ecology and history. A skilled storyteller, John is well known for his encyclopedic knowledge of the Sarasota area, which he shares through presentations, tours and publications. John received his BS from Goshen College and worked with Sarasota County Government for 32 years as an Environmental Specialist, County Historian, and Director of Parks and Recreation.  An avid cyclist and kayaker, John enjoys exploring natural lands and waterways throughout the region.

Historic Photographers of the Sarasota Region 

This presentation highlights the work of three professional photographers who captured Sarasota history on glass plates and film. This program will feature photographs from the 1880s to the 1940s, showcasing the growth and development of Sarasota over six decades.     

In addition, our speaker will provide an update on activities at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens.

George was the keyboard player for Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone from 1990 to 2003, traveling the globe across the United States, Canada, and abroad.

Additionally, he performed with Micky Dolenz (The Monkees), Bobby Sherman (TV and Recording Artist) and Sam Moore from Sam and Dave.

Residing in Venice, Florida since 1996, George formed InnerwaveMusic.com and performs solo and with a variety of groups including Broadway Knights and The A Train.

Terry Tbone Rhodes

With his soulful baritone voice, Terry Tbone Rhodes has been entertaining crowds along the Suncoast of Florida for years.

Originally from New York, Tbone sings with several local groups; Coastal Keys, G – Force, and The Tbone Trio.

The sounds of Motown come to life when Tbone sings “My Girl”. He pays tribute to Lou Rawls, Marvin Gaye and Barry White when he performs their hits. Tbone is the real deal!
